DHL to Become Evri Premium? Our Take on the Merger Plan

Evri Premium: When DHL Moved in With the Neighbours From Hell

Posted by Snacks Online | May 2025

So, the big news in delivery land: DHL eCommerce UK is merging with Evri. And not just merging — they’re going all in. The trusted DHL name in the UK will now operate under a bold new brand:

🎩 Evri Premium – a network of DHL eCommerce.

Because nothing says “top-tier, reliable service” like sticking “Premium” next to a name most people associate with soggy garden parcels, fake signatures, and the phrase “Sorry we missed you” (even though you were home all day).

A rebrand too far?

Let’s break this down. DHL — one of the most globally respected names in logistics — has decided to tuck itself neatly under the Evri brand.

Imagine:

  • Rolex deciding to rebrand under Casio Premium.
  • Waitrose handing operations to Lidl Plus Elite.
  • Or your local Bentley dealership being run by Vauxhall Direct+.

We’re not knocking Evri’s ambition. But “Evri Premium” just sounds like the same chaos, with shinier vans.

If Evri is Premium now… what’s Standard?

Let’s not forget why Evri (formerly Hermes) rebranded in the first place: to shake off the reputation it earned delivering parcels like they were frisbees.

But if DHL’s rock-solid van network is now “Evri Premium,” that begs the question:

What happens to Evri Standard?

Are they still:

  • Yeeting packages over fences?
  • Signing “S.C. Ribble” on your behalf?
  • Delivering to "safe places" like open wheelie bins?

Premium or not, we’ve all got stories. And if the only difference is the badge on the van, we’re not convinced.

⚠️ A Quick Word on Our Current Setup

Right now, we still use DHL for some of our heavier shipments — and to be fair, they’ve been spot on.

That is, until today.

For the first time ever, DHL failed to collect our parcels.
This just so happens to coincide with the big Evri merger announcement.

Coincidence? Who knows. But it doesn’t exactly fill us with confidence.

If this merger gets full regulatory approval and DHL becomes just another arm of Evri, we’ll be switching providers.

No hesitation. We’re not putting your parcels — or our name — in the hands of a brand still trying to win back trust from 2020.

Why we’re sticking with the grown-ups

At Snacks Online, we keep things simple:

  • Royal Mail for the lighter stuff — tracked, reliable, and still delivers to doors, not bushes.
  • Parcelforce for the heavy gear — proper van service, no funny business.
  • 🚫 No porch flings. No ghost signatures. No “Evri Premium” games.

Both are part of Royal Mail Group, and still understand that delivery means… well… actual delivery.

Final thought

If DHL wanted to raise Evri’s standards, they should’ve brought Evri up to DHL’s level — not parked the DHL name in the back seat.

But hey, we’re just a snack company with a warehouse and a working doorbell. What do we know?
