Tayto was founded in 1956 by Thomas Hutchinson. The business began with just six employees and produced only 972 packets of crisps on its first day.
From those modest beginnings, Tayto grew into Northern Ireland's leading crisp brand. The company now employs more than 350 people and is capable of producing around one million packs of crisps and snacks every day.
Tayto uses more than 20,000 tonnes of potatoes each year and its products are enjoyed around the world. Despite that growth, the brand remains closely connected to Northern Ireland and its home in Tandragee, County Armagh.
